Whether you’re spending today with your other half or you’re giving yourself some ‘me time’ I want to wish you a Happy Valentine’s Day and I hope you have a beautiful day and too a wonderful weekend! Shehzad and I won’t be doing anything for Valentine’s Day as we’re both working but I am looking forward to going for brunch and shopping next week on our day off 🙂
So today I thought I’d just share an easy peasy recipe for the brownies above, I whipped these up yesterday morning and they went down a storm. He didn’t even realise they were from a packet :p We also exchanged cards and gifts, I was shocked at the gorgeous gifts he picked out for me!
First up the delicious brownies. When I’m feeling lazy and don’t have much time I will admit I reach for the packet mix. But what’s wrong with that? Everything is weighed out for you in the packet, all you have to do is add an egg a little water and some oil, mix and bake. EASY! These brownies are the Betty Crocker Chocolate Fudge Brownie Mix, with three added extras. I like a little extra texture so I chop up a standard bar of Galaxy Milk Chocolate (cheeky I know) and a carton of glace cherries (cherries and chocolate, delicious!) and I pop a rolo on top just to make them extra special! After baking in a normal cake tray for around 20 minutes, I simply used a heart shaped cutter to make two little heart shaped brownies. I then cut up the rest into squares for my colleagues and work lunch boxes. They’re so moist and gooey in the middle with a perfect crunch on the top. Next time you’re craving some warm brownies I definitely recommend reaching for the Betty Crocker mix!
Next, my absolutely stunning gifts and the first two are so perfect I just didn’t have words when I opened them. Just like a Christmas present post, I am no way boasting. I just wanted to share how spot on my fiancé is with gift buying and come on, who doesn’t like a gift post really?! It’s like he reads my blog because I literally just featured them on my Disney wishlist recently! The Anna Animator Doll and Merida Animator Doll. They are so adorable and the perfect start to my collection! I don’t want to unbox them until I get a new bookshelf to display them on but when I do I will be doing a video and post about them 😀
And finally two ever so thoughtful pieces from Links of London. The Secret Eclipse Love Pendant. Such a gorgeous locket-style necklace featuring a revolving disc with a secret message inside. The letter T charm in silver for my charm bracelet. Eventually I want to have my initials across it with my initial when I change my surname after marriage 🙂
Don’t worry, I did get him some gifts (not pictures because I didn’t get a chance before he started using it all). But I treated him to a Grey Skull Friendship bracelet from Links of London. Trust me, he loves skull bracelets and has all the Thomas Sabo ones -__- He also got a selection of The Body Shop goodies including lots of cocoa butter scented goodies (his favourite). The main treat I guess was the F1 2014 World Championship Review – something I knew he had wanted for a while. He is a massive Lewis Hamilton fan!
What did you do for Valentine’s Day? I’d love to see your Valentine’s posts if you’ve done any so please share them in the comments below 🙂
