As we wave goodbye to 2013 tonight what better way to look back on it than to share my best and perhaps (to some of you) most interesting parts. 2013 has been a big year for me, I’ve grown up a lot and seen myself overcome a few challenges and experiences along the way.
I started Peach Pow XO blog, which has over 250 followers! This is an incredible achievement for me. I started my blog as a way to keep myself busy when I was jobless, just a bit of fun really. I wanted to reach out and meet more people after moving to London and having practically no friends. It’s been almost a year now and I’m so happy with how my blog has improved my life.
I got a job. It’s my first step onto the career ladder I’ve been wanting to jump on for a while and I’m so happy that I’ve been given the opportunity to work for the company I’m in! I’m hoping 2014 will give me progression and better opportunities in the company! (I hate talking about work on here so I won’t go into this so much)
I overcame my phobia of eating in public. Since my early teens I’d been battling with eating in public or around unfamiliar faces, until earlier this year. I can thank both my friends and my blog for me overcoming this. I have always had a passion for food but until this year I kept it under wraps, simply cooking and eating meals at home. After being eased in to some restaurants the atmosphere and surroundings now very rarely scare me, I’m so comfortable with eating in public that I’ll actually eat with my hands too, that’s a big deal to me!
My style improved, my hair grew, I started wearing a better face. Basically blogging taught me a lot more things than I thought. I loved makeup and clothes before blogging, but thanks to all the other bloggers, stylists and makeup artists out there I now know a lot more. I feel confident when I look my best, I may not be the most fashionable person out there, I don’t buy into every trend but I feel comfortable in my best clothes!
I got body confident. For a long time now I’ve had a love hate relationship with my body. Being bullied for being underweight, then for putting weight on, a rollercoaster of emotions. I’ve finally chosen not to care what others think. I love my body for what it is, it’s my choice how I look. Much like it’s anyone else’s choice how they look.
I made lots of friends. This is mainly thanks to Matt, but I now have a wonderful handful of friends which I go out with, chill out with and can talk to. I also made a few blogging buddies through meet ups and events, we may not see eachother daily or even weekly but it still matters that they’re there to talk to whenever! Another big step for a socially awkward and anxiety ridden 23 year old! HA!
I saw Beyoncé live. This is a big deal for me! I got the tickets as a surprise for my sister’s 21st Birthday: she’s also a huge Beyoncé fan! The experience was out of this world and I am now lucky enough to say I’ll be seing her again in 2014 when she returns for part 2 of her World tour!
I went to the Harry Potter Studio Tour. And it was the BEST DAY EVER! Honestly, I got so emotional and I took over 300 photos, you probably saw the post :p If you’re a Potter fan I definitely recommend you pop to Watford and have the best day out!
I watched all seasons of Dexter. It took just over a month, I became completely obsessed with it and I cried when it was all over. This is an achievement because I rarely get addicted to a tv show enough to watch it the whole way through. I highly recommend anyone who hasn’t seen it to watch it, I was against it when it was loved by all (along with Breaking Bad) but decided to give it a go on my free trial of Netflix.
Finally I want to say a massive thank you to all of my readers and followers across the blogging platform! Without you I’d probably have given up and would be sitting playing GTAV or something on my lonesome, but I’m here being creative and doing the things I love and sharing it with you guys and girls! Thank you and I hope to meet you all in the New Year for a big blogging celebration!
I hope this hasn’t been the most boring post and you enjoyed knowing a little more about me! If you’ve done a personal post like this let me know by leaving a comment below!
