March was a pretty dull month, I’m sure we can all agree. Wind, rain, sleet and snow. We barely saw the sun and my skin has been suffering due to that so I changed my skin routine and added some incredible new (to me) products, here are my favourites from March!
Neutrogena Visibly Clear Pink Grapefruit Cream Wash – £4.49 from Boots
It does exactly what it says on the bottle, promising to prevent spots without overdrying the skin. I have been using this twice daily for about a month and the difference in my skin is unbelievable. It’s so much clearer and feels so soft, not dry and tight like previous cleansing products I have tried. And the scene is to die for, just like pink grapefruit!
Skinetica Anti-Blemish – £9.99 from Skinetica
This is a unique solution for clearing blemishes such as spots and acne. It promises no harsh chemicals, with no side effects and has been dermatologically tested.
Skinetica is essential for my daily skin routine. After using the free tester over a one week period during February I was speechless with the results, my skin improved within 3 days and my spots banished without using any overpowering products. I had to buy the full sized product, plus a bottle for my younger sister!
I also use this twice daily, in the mornings between washing my face and applying make-up and in the evenings before bed.
Garnier Moisture Match Wake Me Up – £5.99 from Boots
Promising to revitalise and wake up dull skin this hydrating gel is amazing and definitely does what it says on the bottle. I’ve been using it for just two weeks and I’ve noticed a great difference. My skin feels soft and clear, without any flaky patches and looks vibrant! I can’t wait to try the other Moisture Match products from Garnier.
Soap & Glory Smoothie Star Lightly Whipped Body Buttercream – £10.50 from Boots
This has been ultimate favourite body moisturiser/cream since receiving it for Christmas. With the scent of sweet almonds and vanilla, it’s good enough to eat! I smother myself in this after showering with other Soap & Glory products. It’s deep moisturising and leaves my skin soft and sweet for a long time!
Bio-Oil – £14.99 from Boots
I swear by Bio-Oil. I suffer from incredibly dry skin especially over the knees, elbows and shoulders and it’s worse throughout the colder months so I need something to help hydrate my skin. I apply this all over after showering/bathing and it works wonders. I also had nasty scars/stretch marks on the back of my thighs after putting on weight last year and they’ve vanished after applying Bio-Oil daily! My miracle product!
Perfectil Triple Active for Skin, Hair & Nails – £6.69 from Boots
The only difference I have seen from using this product for roughly one month is in my skin and this might not even be down to Perfectil as I have changed my skincare routine. However, I have read good reviews on this product, especially about nails being healthy so I will carry on taking these to see if I feel the same.
Blanx Intensive Stain Removing Toothpaste – £6.50 from Boots
My mum actually recommended this to me and as I am a complete toothcare addict, I just had to give it a go. As it’s an intensive stain removing toothpaste it promises to clear stains such as caffeine, tobacco and fizzy drinks. I’ve only been using this for two weeks but can already see the difference. I always brush/rinse my mouth with mouthwash after a meal as well as brushing twice daily, so I’m not sure if that has anything to do with it.
John Frieda Frizz-Ease 3-Day Straight – £6.99 from Boots
I am always sceptical over frizz preventing products, I think I’ve tried pretty much every brand and still haven’t been satisfied with the results. I suffer from extremely frizzy hair, even the slightest bit of humidity sets my hair off, wild!
I’ve been using 3-Day Straight from John Frieda for just over a month, I use it after every wash of my hair before blow drying so roughly 3-4 times a week and I have noticed a difference in the texture of my hair. It feels a lot lighter and is definitely straighter after blow drying. However, my little frizzy fuzz bits on the top of my hair are still flying high. Nothing can tame them! Sigh.
Models Own Nail Polish in Beth’s Blue – £5.00 from Models Own
This shade is such a lovely vibrant yet subtle spring colour, a perfect shade for the day. I apply Indian Ocean from the Beetlejuice collection over the top to add a little sparkle.
Models Own Nail Polish in Utopia – £5.00 from Models Own
A perfect Spring Neutral shade. I recommend this if you can’t get away with bright polish at work/college as it’s very pale, yet still better than bare nails.
