Happy Mother’s Day

It’s Mother’s Day here in the UK so today I have been spoiling my mum rotten with gifts and treats! Sadly my sister could not be here today so she had some flowers, chocolate truffles and a card sent to the house this afternoon! How sweet!

My mum is the most important and inspirational person in my life. She has put up with me, loved me and cared for me for 22 years and I know she will happily carry on for years to come. Throughout the years she has supported myself and my sister in everything we do. As a single parent for most of our lives, she has always made sure we are treated just as equally as other children and has never failed to make us happy. I can’t thank her enough for all that she does. We’re absolutely rubbish at expressing our feelings in this family but we know exactly how much we mean to each other without saying a word.

I decided to go for some pretties and pampering goodies for Mother’s Day this year.
A gorgeous orchid and super sweet cut-out detail plant pot that I’ve seen just about every lifestyle and beauty blogger buy for all sorts of uses!
A candle from my new favourite brand, I purchased one of these a couple of months ago and my mum loved the scent so I decided to get her one, Vanilla and Honey flavour; Some Soap and Glory goodies to pamper herself. Calm One Calm All, Heel Genius and Night In Shining Armour Night Cream; Three Natural Collection Face Masks in Wild Strawberry and Rosmary and Witch Hazel; A Loofah; Reeces Miniature Peanut Butter Cups of course! Anything to do with peanut butter or marmite and my mother is sold!

I also made my mum this gorgeous cross stitched card. I got the kit free in a magazine and just had to give it a go! Not bad as a first attempt at cross stitching since I was a child!
She absolutely loved it. Though she loves anything I craft together!

Beautiful orchid for a beautiful woman!
Delicious red velvet cake, made by moi!

Today has sadly also been a struggle for me for two reasons. I lost my great-grandmother three years ago to cancer. She was a great inspiration and importance to me. A beautiful and strong woman who cared and loved myself and my sister and treated us like little princesses! I miss her everyday, I can’t express that enough. Happy Mother’s Day Nanny <3
I also very sadly suffered a miscarriage last year and although I have been coping, I still have off-days and find it extremely hard to talk about. Even to those close to my heart. But enough about the sad…

My great-grandmother, nanny Peggy.

I hope everyone had a beautiful Mother’s Day surrounded by their loved ones!
