When you’re in your twenties, it feels a little tricky to know what to do for your birthday party. Gone are the days when you mum and dad will plan your Birthday parties at the local soft play area or youth club! Do you choose a house party or go for something a little more sophisticated? As you approach your thirties, it can be even trickier. You are meant to be all responsible at this age, right? Though quite often it doesn’t feel like it. I still feel like I am in my teens sometimes! So there is no need for party bags and favours as such at your party, but what kind of party could you have in your twenties? Here are a few ideas to give you some inspiration.
Have a Fancy Dress Party
This could be a house party or a classier dinner party. The fun part is dressing up and having fun being a different character or person for the night. You could keep the theme general, or choose something a little more specific. It could be that you want everyone to dress up in the 80s or 90s style, to celebrate the year you were born. You might want something a little crazier, like dressing as your favourite movie stars. There are a lot of cheap fancy dress stores around, so don’t feel like it is a hassle for everyone. Most people will have something hidden away that they could come dressed as.
Organise a VIP Night
If you can’t feel like a VIP in your twenties then when can you? How about hiring a limousine and filling it with your closest friends. Then you could hit your favourite club and chill out in the VIP area. This is an easy option for a party, and most people are going to be up for this kind of thing. Just make sure you plan ahead to get your names on the club’s guest list.
Have a Sleepover
Throw it back to your youth and recreate a sleepover like you use to have. The chances are you will have your own place so you can have lots of fun. Think scary movies, pampering sessions and plenty of chocolate and wine. The perfect way to celebrate getting older, in my opinion.
If you prefer to be at one with nature rather than hitting the clubs, then how about arranging a camping trip? You can have lots of fun in the great outdoors and get a campfire going. S’mores are the best to have with an open fire. You could set each other challenges and play games into the night, Man Hunt is one of my favourites!
If you’re a bit of a book nerd like myself then murder mystery party just what you need. There are ones online that you can organise yourself. You could also book one at a hotel with professional actors. It is such a fun evening, with you all doing something you never have before. It is another excuse to get all dressed up too, as you take on a character from the story for the evening.
I hope this gives you some ideas for your next birthday party? I’ll be turning 26 in a few months, I’m already thinking of ways to celebrate as sadly a December baby rarely gets birthday parties. DAMN YOU HOLIDAYS!
What’s been your most epic of Birthday parties?! What would be your perfect way to celebrate throughout your twenties? 🙂
