A Weekend in Weymouth

If you didn’t know before I will let you know now, I am from Weymouth in Dorset, South-West England.

Weymouth is a lovely seaside town located in the South of Dorset, nestled between rural countryside and the English Channel. It is also situated half way along the World Heritage Site that is the Jurassic Coast, which spans 96 miles from Dorset to East Devon along the coastline.

Weymouth is a popular Summer resort for local and far travelling tourists and holiday makers looking to relax and enjoy a simple holiday. Weymouth has recently been put on the map after it’s neighbour island, Portland hosted the sailing events during the 2012 Olympic and Paralympic Games, boosting tourism and trade in the area.

I lived in the heart of Weymouth countryside from being born up until October 2011 so you could say I’m a country girl. My family including my younger sister still live in Weymouth so I try to visit as much as I can. Over the bank holiday I decided to take a long weekend and visit, for the 3rd time since moving to London.

Lots of photos so please feel free to click Read More to take a peek at my lovely weekend away 🙂

A wonderful 138 mile one-way car journey took us to Weymouth from London on Friday afternoon.

Dinner at The Stable, Weymouth. Full review here.

This is Sally Lunne Bakery, the bakery my mum worked at when myself and my sister were little. Every day she would bring us fresh bread or a cake to take to school the next day. The bakery still does some of my favourite cakes all these years later!

Cutest sweet and fudge shop in Lulworth Cove. The woman who works there makes the fudge upstairs. When I was in there she was bringing a tray down and it was still warm. DELICIOUS.

Fish and chips from my favourite fish and chip takeaway in Weymouth! Award winning Marlboro fish & chips.

Weymouth Harbour bridge going up for the boats to pass through.

No Ope, Portland.

Chesil Beach, Portland.

The Worlds End pub outside Dorchester. I couldn’t resist taking photos!

So that was my lovely weekend in Weymouth in photos 😀
